Mohammad Obaid is a United Arab Emirates national. He was appointed a Public Prosecutor in the public protection of Dubai in 1992. As Prosecutor he represented the Government of Dubai and coordinated with the Police and Department of Justice. In 1998, he was appointed a Judge of the Dubai Courts. As judge he presided over a large number of civil, commercial, labour and criminal matters and was a signatory to a number of reported judgments. He resigned from the post of Judge in 2001 for better prospects.

He was appointed as the Head of the Legal Department in the Development Board, Dubai. As Head of the Legal Department, he was in charge of all legal matters affecting the Development Board including advising it on all legal issues, giving instructions, drafting and approving contracts and other legal documents. He resigned from this post in 2005 to establish Accord International. He is licensed to practice as an Advocate in the United Arab Emirates and in addition to his wide experience as Prosecutor, Judge and Head of Legal Department of Development Board, he has also represented the Dubai Government in international cases.

He is the moving force for the formation of the firm and is the Chairman of Accord International, Advocates and Legal Consultants. Mohammed Obaid is licensed to practice before the national courts of the UAE.

Naheed Kadernani is a Kenyan national who graduated as a lawyer from the University of Mumbai in India in 1999. Thereafter he proceeded to Kenya to complete his post graduate diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law. Having successfully completed the post graduate diploma he was admitted to the Roll of Advocates of the High Court of Kenya in April 2001. Since then he has practiced all forms of law including civil and criminal litigation and commercial law specializing in corporate and real estate law. He practiced as an advocate in Nairobi, Kenya until early 2003 when he moved to Dubai where he has been practicing as a legal consultant ever since. He is licensed to practice before the DIFC Courts.

His areas of specialization include drafting of various international contracts, incorporation of business enterprises in the United Arab Emirates, mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, intellectual property law, offshore incorporations and structuring of offshore trusts and foundations, succession planning and property law.

During his stay in Dubai he has created a formidable reputation for himself as lawyer with fast and practical solutions to commercial legal issues saving his clients from unnecessary costs and making their business experience in Dubai pleasant.


Emad Hassan - Head of the Litigation Department

He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University in 1975, has more than 33 years expertise in the judicial field and is the former Chief Justice of the Cairo Appeal Court. As part of his responsibilities during his career as a judicial officer, Emad was appointed as the head of Arbitration Committee of Civil and Commercial Disputes in the judiciary authority in Egypt. His expertise is in both civil and criminal matters. During his career Emad was an assistant in the public prosecution and rose to become the Head of Public Prosecution in charge of public funds. He was also appointed as a member of the National Council of Motherhood and Childhood in Egypt as well as a member in the committee for amending the succession and family law in Egypt.

Emad has been dedicated to the advancement of jurisprudence and the development of the legal profession internationally and in this regard he was a lecturer in The Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University and The Police Academy of Egypt. In addition he published various books including; Explanation of Kuwaiti Money Laundering Law, Explanation of Kuwaiti Financial Market Law, Explanation of Omissive Liability in Egyptian Law, Crimes of Manslaughter and Injury and Legal Pleas in Drug Cases. He has experience in the Kuwait where he has practice for a major law firms prior to joining Accord International. While in Kuwait he lectured at the Kuwaiti Association of Advocates.

Emad is a firm believer in the rule of law and as a seasoned judicial officer, he has developed strategies and prepared court submissions that have made Accord International have one of the most innovative litigation departments in the UAE.

Musa Machooka - Head of the Corporate & Commercial Law Department.

He obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom. Thereafter he qualified as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and commenced his career by practicing law in Kenya.

Between 2002 and 2007 Musa was employed as the Legal Officer at the Industrial Promotion Services Group (IPS), the industrial arm of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development. As part of his responsibilities, Musa attended board meetings, supervised legal and regulatory matters and ensured the smooth running and legal compliance of the numerous subsidiaries that comprised the IPS Group in East Africa. While at IPS he was involved in several mergers and acquisitions where he also conducted legal due diligence investigations and drafted various transaction documents. In addition to his legal responsibilities, Musa was also in charge of the Public Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility docket at IPS.

In 2007 Musa joined Accord International Advocates & Legal Consultants as the Head of its Commercial & Corporate Law Department where he supervises other legal consultants, conducts legal transactions and prepares a diverse nature of agreements. During his time at Accord International he has been responsible for attending to the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation's legal work. While in Dubai Musa has also developed into an experienced Arbitration practitioner and, has earned the reputation of being an honest and straightforward professional with a unique legal perspective on business and commercial matters. In addition, his drafting skills are renown in the UAE to the extent that he was the lead draftsman for the recently enacted Road Regulations of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Musa is licensed to practice before the DIFC Courts.
